NESTA Elections

NESTA members elect our Regional and National Officers for two-year terms in cycles.

During one election cycle, we select from candidates for President-Elect; Secretary; Treasurer; Regional Directors for the New England, Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern, East Central, and Northwest Sections; and one Director-at-Large.

In the alternate election cycle, we select from candidates for the New York, Eastern, Central, North Central, South Central, Southwest, and Far West Section; and one Director-at-Large.

The President-Elect automatically becomes the President, and the President then becomes the Past-President.

The President-Elect chairs the Nomination and Election Committee. S/he usually puts out a call for candidates in the fall. Any member in good standing can run for elected office. Of course, only a member residing within a Region can run for election as that Regional Director.

Whenever possible, we seek at least two candidates for each position. Elections are conducted electronically.
