NESTA offers publications that serve the K-12 Earth and Space Science classroom teacher.

These include:

  • The Earth Scientist, our quarterly journal which is either available in PDF format on the website or mailed to members (depending on the membership options they chose), and
  • our monthly electronic newsletter, NESTA ENews.
Free copies of back issues of both publications are available to members through the website. If you are not already a member of NESTA, but would like to join and have access to these publications, please join NESTA today!

Alternatively, back issues of The Earth Scientist are available for sale to non-members.

During the week of May 13th, the CO2 level at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii topped 400 ppm repeatedly. Daily levels of CO2 can vary due to weather, and there are seasonal trends as well.

The week of May 19 brings dozens of tornadoes to Tornado Alley in the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri.

A bill has been introduced in the Kansas legislature this week that would prohibit the promotion of sustainability.
