There are many opportunities for teachers in the form of awards, grants, contests, and fellowships, and as these opportunities are announced, we will use the space below to post the announcement. NESTA Harold B. Stonehouse Mini-Grants for K-12 Teachers
The Harold B. Stonehouse Mini-Grants, for K-12 Earth Science Teachers are mini-grants of up to $500, given to educators to support student-centered Earth Science activities. The purpose of these grants is to support innovative Earth Science ideas in K - 12 classrooms. The grant program is named in honor of Dr. Harold B. Stonehouse, a founding member of NESTA and its very first Executive Advisor. Learn more about the grant.
Beginning in 2015, two grants may be awarded to selected NESTA member applicants. Award amounts will not exceed $500. We have extended the application deadline to after the summer break, so they are now due Oct 31, 2015. Download the grant application.
MESTA Stoney Grant - The Michigan Earth Science Teachers Association is offering a mini-grant (up to $500) to support student-centered Earth Science activities for NESTA members. For mini-grant details and the application form go to: http://www.mestarocks.org/cms/content/grants/stoney.
NAGT OESTA (Outstanding Earth Science Teacher Award)
NAGT recognizes 1 teacher from each State for excellence in teaching and related activities, and also cites 1 from each Section. For information about this program and how to apply: http://nagt.org/nagt/awards/oest.html.

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are now accepting nominations for the 2015 awards. Educators teaching mathematics, science and computer science in grades 7-12 are eligible to apply this year. PAEMST is the nation’s highest honor for teachers in this field and is awarded annually by the President of the United States.Student Engagement Opportunities
