AWARDS

Charge: The Awards Committee shall identify suitable candidates for recognition, as determined by NESTA Constitution, By-Laws, and Procedure Manual. The Committee shall bring these candidates' nominations to the NESTA Board in a timely fashion, and provide advice for appropriate public honor.

Charge: The Conference Committee shall cooperate with the President, Executive Director, and selected others to coordinate NESTA participation in NSTA National and Area Conferences on Science Education, and other meetings when appropriate.

FINANCE

Charge: The Finance Committee shall maintain an accurate record of NESTA's financial status, and advise the Executive Committee and Board in development and modification of the annual Budget.

Charge: The Membership Committee shall keep accurate record of current members, stimulate efforts to attract new members, encourage renewal, and attempt to bring back lapsed members.

Charge: The Nominations and Elections Committee shall be appointed by the President to prepare and present a slate of nominees to the membership by mail and/or electronic means prior to the date when officers are to be elected. Any member in good standing may submit nominations to the committee. The Committee shall also conduct the election in accordance with established guidelines.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Charge: The Professional Development Committee shall coordinate with other Committees and the Executive Board plans to provide opportunities for enhancing knowledge and experience of NESTA members through field trips, short courses, Earth and Space Science Days, and other venues.
