Galileo Educator Network Professional Development Workshop

In partnership with the Astronomical Society for the Pacific (ASP) and NASA, the Challenger Learning Center invites you to the Galileo Educator Network (GEN) Professional Development Workshop on January 24th and 25th. Become a NASA Galileo Educator through this 15-hour workshop for pre-service and in-service teachers K-8, and learn about implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in your teaching. Within the context of astronomy and space science, you will experience hands-on inquiry activities, reflect on the nature of science, and even practice integrating NGSS into your existing science lessons.

This workshop is free to attend, but registration is required to secure workshop materials. All registered participants will receive CPDU credits and a voucher good for $100 off one Challenger Learning Center school mission in the 2014-2015 school year. Additionally, the first 15 educators to sign up will receive GEN materials to take back to their classrooms, including a copy of the ASP’s “Universe at Your Fingertips 2.0” DVD-ROM of activities and resources.

GEN Professional Development Workshop times are 8am – 4:30 pm on Friday, January 24th and 8am – 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 25th. Lunch will be provided both days. To register or for more information, call the Challenger Learning Center at 309-268-8700 or email .
