NESTA-PBS Webinar: Sun's Energy & the Earth System

NOVA and NESTA are teaming up in a series of webinars for middle school and high school educators! Here is the information for the next event:

The Sun: Energy for Our Earth System
Wednesday, October 23 at 6:00pm EDT

Dr. C. Alex Young is the Associate Director for Science in the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. He oversees the Education and Public Outreach team for the division and will share information about solar research and related NASA educational content.

NOVA Education Coordinator Rachel Gesserman will discuss how you can bring solar data into your classroom using NOVA’s Sun Lab. The Lab explores what makes the Sun so volatile and gives students access to the same data, images, and tools that scientists use to predict solar storms.

Dr. Roberta Johnson, NESTA's Executive Director, will talk about available content on NESTA’s “Windows to the Universe” website related to this topic. Windows is a portal where you can find a myriad of classroom resources for all grade levels related to Earth and Space science.
